B. Crowdsourcing Project #2 = Marketing Plan : Tender Leaves (http:///www.tenderleaves.com) is an online book library service. Tender Leaves can be thought of as a Netflix for books. We pick up and deliver books from offices, homes or schools. We currently deliver our service to corporate customers in Pune, Bengaluru and Baroda and to schools and individual customers in Pune.
Challenge # 1
Identify different market segments and create a marketing plan to target it.
E.g. school students is a market segment. How big is the market? What will the users (students) want vis a vis the customer (parents)? How can we reach out to this segment? What kind of books should be stocked for this segment? What is the messaging that will appeal to this segment? What are the channels to be used for targeting this segment? Online and offline strategies?
Few segments that we can think of are
• Housewives
• College students
• Students preparing for competitive exams
• Fans of specific book genres e.g. manga, graphic novels etc.
• Senior Citizens
• Regional book readers (Telugu, Marathi, Hindi)
• Business book readers
More such segments need to be identified and a plan needs to be developed for each of them.
C. Crowdsourcing Project #3 = Partnership Plan : Tender Leaves wants to tie up with institutional partners like coffee shops, hotels, hospitals, spas, saloons, clinics, schools, training institutes with the following objectives –
• How can the partner help Tender Leaves reach out to its customer base?
• How can the partner become a customer by itself, which will help it deliver more value to its stakeholders via Tender Leaves?
Which kind of partners? What will be the value delivered to the partner; what will be the value for Tender Leaves? Which partners to target? What kind of activities will Tender Leaves have to undertake? Online and offline strategies
